LOGO Contributes Chapter “Nutzerfokus als Basis für Bestandssanierung” (User Focus as the Basis for Refurbishing Existing Buildings) to the Specialist Book “Betrieb von Immobilien” (Real Estate Operations)
Requirements Planning Is More Than a Space Program
Requirements planning is one of the core areas of expertise at LOGO InfraConsult. With passion, conviction and professional know-how, we support building owners in structuring requirements at an early stage, reconciling diverging interests and laying a solid foundation for successful construction projects.
Our expertise is reflected in the chapter “Nutzerfokus als Basis für Bestandssanierung” (User Focus as the Basis for Refurbishing Existing Buildings). In this contribution, Andreas Klein, Carola Schwieger, Elisabeth Lossen, Klaus Baumann and Ruta Ambewadikar jointly demonstrate why sound requirements planning goes far beyond simply drawing up a space program.
A space program alone is not a solid planning foundation.
Anyone who wishes to develop a construction project successfully must first clarify:
- What strategic objective does the project pursue?
- What functions must it fulfill?
- What spaces and capacities are required?
- What qualitative and technical standards apply?
- When must the solution be available?
- What economic framework must be observed?
These six levels of requirements form the basis of sound requirements planning. They make requirements concrete, measurable and comprehensible for all project stakeholders.
The resulting requirements plan defines the target state of the planning and serves as a reference for planning, decisions and changes throughout the project. This makes it possible to identify conflicting objectives early on, consolidate requirements and avoid missteps as the project progresses.
In our chapter “Nutzerfokus als Basis für Bestandssanierung” (User Focus as the Basis for Refurbishing Existing Buildings), we show why professional requirements planning goes far beyond determining floor space, and why it should begin as early as possible in a project.
After all, good planning does not start with the first design draft. It starts with asking the right questions.
The chapter is part of the book “Betrieb von Immobilien” (Real Estate Operations), published by Springer Vieweg, and is also available individually as an online version. https://link.springer.com/chapter/10.1007/978-3-658-51953-7_2#citeas
