Developer training: How to retain control over your construction project
Keeping control of your construction project demands extensive expertise and specific skills.
In our two-day intensive course on “The role of the developer in construction projects,” we shared our many years of specialist expertise with the participants in a targeted way. The two instructors, Andreas Klein and Arved Weidemüller, also showcased the use of effective tools and methods and demonstrated the content with practical exercises.
The learning material included the initiation and sequence of a construction project, prerequisites for a trouble-free project launch, the developer’s responsibilities throughout the planning and construction process, and much more. Practical exercises and best practice examples were used to great effect to illustrate key topics such as “challenges and pitfalls in ongoing projects” and “project completion.”
Another focus was on the regulations and fundamental conditions for construction projects. Participants gained a comprehensive overview of statutory requirements such as construction planning law, building regulations law, basics of technical planning and execution, public procurement and contract provisions according to HOAI, AHO and VOB, and the costs for structural engineering as per DIN 276.
On an exciting and unusual excursion, the group visited the new person transport system (PTS) at Frankfurt Airport to see what they had learned first-hand. The new automatically guided rail system will soon allow passengers and employees to travel between the train station, the existing terminals and the new Terminal 3 in next to no time. The tour of the PTS workshop was an extraordinary privilege that delighted and fascinated the participants.
