Project

New Concept for Terminal 2

Frankfurt Airport,
Germany

Project description

The implementation of the EU Regulation on the separation of inbound and outbound passengers and handling of the Airbus A380 made it necessary to develop a new concept for the terminal. While flight operations continued, demolition and new construction measures were implemented to create new areas for security checks, new gates and aircraft bridges. The new concept also included an expansion of retail areas with new market places, the establishment of a lounge for persons with reduced mobility and the modernization of structural fire protection.
