The new terminal at Frankfurt Airport will open in early summer 2026. Countless workers are currently putting the finishing touches to the impressive building. Elevated platforms are being used to reach the ceiling to install cable trays and lighting.
The future passenger areas are already clearly visible: Light, sand-colored Jurassic stone adorns the floor and facades, complemented by black sheet metal cladding and large glass fronts.
The seating areas and desks are being fitted on the piers, while conveyor belts are being installed and tests carried out in the baggage handling hall. The first few border control counters for the Federal Police have already been put in place.
Pier H for Schengen travelers was accepted by the building authority in November 2024 and is ready for use.
As part of user project management on the construction site, LOGO is ensuring that all operational requirements and the necessary fitting out are implemented. These include control centers and information media for passenger guidance, as well as technical equipment for security, border, and customs controls. These measures are critical to successfully launching operations in Terminal 3.
Because of its distance from the other terminals, a separate section of the airport hospital is also being set up and must be ready in time for trial operations starting in autumn this year.
LOGO is also working on the handover documentation for building users from inside and outside the airport, based on a ‘user room book’ supported by a database.
Our T3 team is incredibly excited to finally begin operations after more than ten years of planning!
