Project

Requirement planning for the
conversion and refurbishment of
Terminal 2

Frankfurt Airport,
Germany

Project description

Once the new Terminal 3 is put into service on the south side of the airport site, Terminal 2 will be closed for extensive conversion and refurbishment works. With the terminal in service for 30 years now, building, energy-efficiency and fire protection upgrades are needed. T1 and T2 will then share a common security area, or airside, for joint use by the Star Alliance / Lufthansa Group. This will remove the need for transfer passengers to go through additional security checks.

As part of requirement planning, LOGO will create a database-driven room and functional layout for the functional conversion and technical refurbishment measures. This will then form the basis for all further planning stages and requires extensive coordination with numerous stakeholders and planning participants.
