Focus on sustainability: Braunschweig-Wolfsburg Airport sets the standard
Braunschweig-Wolfsburg Airport focuses consistently on sustainability in its operations.
The airport operator is actively committed to reducing emissions and is helping to combat climate change through a targeted reduction of its carbon footprint. A further reduction in the buildings’ energy consumption and the generation of renewable solar power by photovoltaic systems on open spaces and roofs are planned for the next few years.
The LOGO team is currently supporting the airport operator in developing an implementation proposal for reducing the carbon footprint of the airport buildings. The current focus is on identifying and assessing potential energy-related measures. These measures will then become part of a roadmap by mid-2024. The airport will ultimately receive purposefully climate-friendly buildings, thus further optimizing the sustainable corporate strategy.
“The sustainable development of our airport, together with the Research Airport cluster and its concentration on attracting mobility-focused enterprises, authorities and research institutions, is a cornerstone of our strategy,” explains Michael Schwarz, CEO of Braunschweig-Wolfsburg Airport.
